FAIA YOUNAN (SYRIA)
Younan is a Syrian and the first Middle Eastern artist ever to crowdfund her debut. At the age of eleven she moved to Sweden with her family and settled there until she moved to Scotland in 2010 to study Social Sciences in the University of Scotland.
In spring 2015, Younan decided to follow her passion to become a professional singer and moved to Beirut to pursue a career in Arabic music. Younan has since released several singles, and has performed in Damascus, Beirut, Dubai, Amman, Sweden, Morocco, Tunisa, Amsterdam and the United Kingdom. Her performances have won interest from all ages and different groups, which in turn placed her in the top list of young artists who present art with purpose that carries in its core cultural, social and humanitarian values.
Younan believes in dedicating their art to humanitarian causes, especially these days and their work to call for an end to war in Syria and the Middle East.
This concert is brought to you by the Festival of Arabic Music and Arts in partnership with the Festival Du Monde Arabe
